The Victorian Government is committed to creating an Aboriginal social and emotional wellbeing framework as part of Victoria's 10-year mental health plan. To help develop the framework an Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing Reference Group has been established, with members selected from Aboriginal community-controlled organisations and specialist mental health services from across Victoria.
The Department of Health & Human Services sought expressions of interest from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people who have experience living with mental illness, or care for someone with mental illness, to join the reference group and provide advice on Aboriginal social and emotional wellbeing and mental health to inform the framework. People could also participate in other departmental working groups and activities that will contribute to Aboriginal social and emotional wellbeing and mental health initiatives.
Nominations closed on Friday, 30 September 2016.
