Summary

All donor-conceived people should have the right to know their genetic heritage - no matter when they were born - and the right to access identifying information about their donors.

The Victorian Government is proposing changes to the Assisted Reproductive Treatment Act 2008.

This discussion paper outlines a range of proposed measures to support donors through legislative reform. The changes include contact preferences - allowing donors to choose and manage what contact they have with their offspring - as well as a process for how information requests will be managed.
