This is the final report of the review by the Inspector-General of Emergency Management into the emergency response to the thunderstorm asthma event that occurred in late November 2016.
The final report is a thorough and extensive examination of how Victoria’s emergency services and health system responded to, and managed, this emergency.
The report acknowledges that all those responding to the event did 'a remarkable job under pressure in dealing with the unexpected and unprecedented demand.' The report makes recommendations about putting the right systems, resources and measures into place to better predict, prepare and respond to similar events in the future.
