About therapeutic day rehabilitation services
Therapeutic day rehabilitation is an innovative treatment stream for people needing alcohol and other drug treatment in Victoria.
The Victorian Government has provided additional investment through the Ice Action Plan to support an additional 500 people per year to access therapeutic day rehabilitation services.
Therapeutic day rehabilitation provides intensive, structured intervention, often through day programs. Programs typically involve motivational enhancement, cognitive behavioural therapies and individual and group counselling, self-help and peer support.
Therapeutic day rehabilitation is similar to residential rehabilitation but enables a person to remain at home so that connections with family, friends and community can be maintained throughout the rehabilitation period.
