The Department of Health & Human Services runs regular training sessions and provides online resources for skill building in governance, leadership, risk management and more. A calendar of training events provided by the Department, VMIA and private providers is available in Downloads.

Clinical Governance 2016: Targeting Zero

The department hosted a clinical governance forum titled Clinical Governance 2016: Targeting Zero on Friday 2 December 2016 at the Telstra Building Theatrette. The forum was well attended, with around 100 people attending in person plus many watching the live webinar on the day.

This event was targeted towards board members of public hospitals (including multi purpose services), public health services and other health boards (such as Forensicare and Ambulance Victoria). View the day's agenda below.

Health system and governance induction 2016

The department hosted an annual induction workshop for new and reappointed directors to the boards of public health services and public hospitals. The Induction workshop was held on 15 September 2016.

The forum was a big success, with around 80 people attending in person plus many watching the live webinar on the day.

All board members of public hospitals (including multi purpose services), public health services and other health boards (such as Forensicare and Ambulance Victoria) were invited to attend the event. View the day's agenda below.

Leading a Safe and Ethical Workplace Culture in Health 2016 

As part of the Victorian Government's commitment to building a positive workplace culture in healthcare, on 12 July 2016, Minister Hennessy opened the Leading a Safe and Ethical Workplace Culture in Health forum. The forum was a big success, with around 200 people attending in person plus many watching the live webcast on the day.

All board members of public hospitals (including multi-purpose services), public health services and other health boards (such as Forensicare and Ambulance Victoria) were invited to attend the one-day event, where public experts explored how boards can lead the way on improving the culture in their organisations. This forum builds on the Victorian Government’s recently announced anti-bullying strategy that outlined actions necessary to prevent, manage and respond to what is unacceptable behaviour in our public health system.

Health system and governance induction session 2015 (online videos)
