Strategic intelligence and projection models

The department provides strategic intelligence and analytical insight about the hospital and health service system.

It also produces complex analysis and modelling, including the development of a hospital inpatient projection model and an emergency department projection model to inform service and capital planning.

Supply and demand modelling

Supply and demand modelling of the health workforce is available, along with sourcing and managing key health workforce datasets.

Development of new resources

New resources are being developed, including investment impact models to inform budget strategy, and new benchmarking products, performance indicators and reporting measures.

Technical advice and collaborations

The department provides technical and methodological advice on measurement, analysis and interpretation of health data. It also contributes to departmental, national and whole-of-government research collaborations.
