Specialist clinics collect and report data as part of performance monitoring and improvement.

Health services collect patient-level data as part of the Victorian Integrated Non-Admitted Health (VINAH) data collection, some health services report via the Agency Information Management System (AIMS)

As well as monitoring and improving performance, the data also feeds into:

  • Victorian Government policy and funding processes
  • national activity-based funding for non-admitted services.

The data collected includes information about health services’ acceptance of new referrals to specialist clinics and how long people wait for a first appointment.
