Annual forum

The Emergency Care Clinical Network (ECCN) held a forum to bring together emergency care clinicians, academics, other interested clinicians and key stakeholders to hear and discuss current evidence and best practice in emergency care.

The sixth forum on Evidence into action in emergency departments was held on the 19 February 2014 in Melbourne and over 200 clinicians attended from metropolitan, regional and rural emergency departments.

2014 Evidence-based quality improvement projects

This is an annual nine month quality improvement cycle in enhancing the use of evidence-based care to reduce variation in practice and improve consistency of emergency care.

Twenty six emergency departments completed the 2014 quality improvement projects. Storyboards have been developed to present their approach, results and lessons learnt, which are available under the project topics below.

Improving recognition of and response to the deteriorating patient
