The development of Victoria's first, 20 year Statewide Design, Service and Infrastructure Plan for Victoria's Health System is underway. This statewide plan will provide the overarching framework for health system design and planning, and will be supported by a suite of service stream and locality plans.
Victoria’s Rural and Regional Health System Design, Service and Infrastructure Plan (‘the Rural Plan’) is one of the locality stream plans under this framework and will articulate how rural and regional health services should be designed, configured, and capacity and clinical capability developed over the next 20 years. The plan will discuss rural population and patient health care needs (current and projected), and identify the necessary actions to support safe, high quality and sustainable rural and regional health care service delivery.
Consultation for the Rural Plan is being supported through a Discussion Paper, available in Downloads on this page, and a series of consultation forums. The paper aims to stimulate discussion and input from the sector and wider community on key system and service design and planning considerations for rural and regional Victoria. The paper includes an on-line link for feedback and views on the current and projected issues facing rural and regional Victorian’s.
Closing date is September 26 2016.
