Strengthening Victoria's community health services

The Community Health Taskforce is being established to advise the Victorian Government on opportunities to strengthen community health services so they can better meet the healthcare needs of vulnerable Victorians.

Mr Phillip Bain, former chief executive of Plenty Valley Community Health, will chair the Taskforce. 

The Taskforce will work with the sector and others to identify a shared vision about the role and priorities for community health now and into the future. 

Appointments to the Community Health Taskforce

An expression of interest process will be undertaken to select up to ten members to serve on the taskforce.

Submissions are sought from suitably qualified people who have experience in:

  • evaluation
  • funding models
  • service commissioning
  • outcomes development
  • governance
  • quality and safety of services.

Taskforce members will be selected to ensure expertise and representation from:

  • primary and community health
  • the broader health and social care system 
  • vulnerable groups and priority populations who receive community health services.
