  • Cemetery trusts must keep a register of all interments.

Section 59 of the Cemeteries and Crematoria Act 2003 requires that details of all interments, including bodily and cremated remains, within a cemetery shall be maintained in a register. Regulations 6–15 of the Cemeteries and Crematoria Regulations 2015 provide details of specific information that must be maintained in this register.

To assist trusts in this regard, the department developed an interment register that accommodates all of the required information for trusts to use. The register is available in bound book (hard copy) or in electronic form. For a hard copy, please contact the department.
