The first Minister-approved list was made under the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Regulations 2006 and published in the Victoria Government Gazette G 35 29 August 2013.

The Minister-approved list has been updated to refer to the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Regulations 2017.

Regulation 47(1)(f) and regulation 57 of the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Regulations 2017 enable pharmacists to implement the Continued Dispensing Initiative in Victoria.

Supply is in accordance with the Commonwealth National Health (Continued Dispensing) Determination 2012 and from a list of Schedule 4 poisons approved by the Minister for Health under regulation 159.

There are no changes to the list of Schedule 4 poisons from the list published in 2013 and the list published in 2018.

The Controlled Dispensing Initiative is effective as published in the Victoria Government Gazette G 31 Thursday 2 August 2018, pages 1724 - 1725.
