The chart below presents data on Carbapenemase-Producing Enterobacterales (CPE) in Victoria. Surveillance of CPE in Victoria was established in 2015 and is described in the Victorian guideline on carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales for health services. The data completeness for CPE will vary based on the amount of screening undertaken in healthcare facilities and the community and should be interpreted with caution. The data reported are only from isolates submitted to the Microbiological Diagnostic Unit Public Health Laboratory and therefore do not represent a true incidence of CPE in Victoria.
