General conditions - notifications and incident reports

This section provides information on the general licence conditions which are applied to all management licences.

There are two general conditions.

Firstly, there is a condition which requires a management licence holder to comply with certain requirements in relation to the acquisition and disposal of radioactive material and X-ray units.

Secondly, there is a condition which requires a management licence holder to notify the department of certain types of radiation incidents.

Any person who conducts a radiation practice must hold a management licence (unless exempt from that requirement). The management licence is subject to the conditions specified in the licence. The management licence holder must not knowingly, recklessly or negligently fail to comply with every condition of their licence.

Failure to comply with a condition of licence is an indictable offence under the Radiation Act 2005.
