The Victorian Government has provided $4 million over four years in grants to support carers locally and for statewide improvements in carer conditions.
Ensuring carers can access support and other services that meet their needs is a key priority of the Recognising and supporting Victoria's carers: Victorian carer strategy 2018–2022.
The aim of the Carer Organisations Statewide Partnership Grants Program is to support partnerships between carer specific organisations, and organisations or bodies that do not typically operate in the carers space to deliver large-scale projects that provide outcomes and benefits linked to one or more of the Victorian Carer Strategy priorities.
Consideration should be given to:
- solving challenging carer issues in innovative ways.
- increasing carer engagement with and use of support services.
- reaching under-represented carer groups such as young carers, LGBTI carers, carers from Aboriginal backgrounds, carers from culturally diverse backgrounds and carers living in rural and regional Victoria.
