Personal Alert Victoria (PAV) is a personal monitoring service that supports older people and people with disabilities to live independently. The program responds to calls for assistance 24 hours a day.
PAV applicants must be assessed as eligible. Applicants can contact the PAV service provider directly to find out which local agency undertakes PAV assessments, or be referred by a doctor, or a community or health service, to an assessment service. Assessments are generally conducted by local councils, Community Health Services, Aged Care Assessment services and some publicly funded Community Rehabilitation Centres.
