Mentoring is a process for the informal transmission of knowledge and support relevant to work, career or professional development. Mentoring can involve formal or informal communication (usually face-to-face) over a sustained period of time between the mentor and the mentee.

A number of mentoring frameworks have been designed for an Aboriginal workforce. Others can readily be adapted for this audience.
