It would be necessary to hold a poisons permit to obtain the following substances when they are Schedule 7 poisons:

ACRYLONITRILE

ARSENIC when it is a Schedule 7 poison

BENZENE when it is a Schedule 7 poison

CACODYLIC ACID when it is a Schedule 7 poison

CYANIDES, METALLIC when they are Schedule 7 poisons.

DYES, including:

  • AZO DYES
  • BENZIDINE-BASED AZO DYES
  • BENZIDINE-CONGENER (3-3’-DISTRIBUTED) AZO DYES
  • OTHER DYES THAT COULD RELEASE CARCINOGENIC AMINES.

1,2-DIBROMO-3-CHLOROPROPANE

4-DIMETHYLAMINOAZOBENZENE

FLUOROACETAMIDE when it is a Schedule 7 poison

FLUOROACETIC ACID (commonly known as “1080”) except when included in ready-to-use bait products that are registered by the APVMA

HYDROCYANIC ACID when it is a Schedule 7 poison

4,4’-METHYLENEBIS [2-CHLOROANILINE]

NICOTINE for human use when it is a Schedule 7 poison

(Note that the Department only issues permits to reputable organisations for legitimate research or industrial uses, and does not issue research/industrial permits to individuals).

STRYCHNINE when it is a Schedule 7 poison

THALLIUM when it is a Schedule 7 poison

VINYL CHLORIDE when it is a Schedule 7 poison.
