How the Seniors Card helps older people

The Seniors Card program is a Victorian Government initiative in partnership with the private sector. It encourages people who have retired or who are working part time to stay a part of their community, by making it more affordable for them to get out and about.

The program is a way of thanking seniors for their contribution to their communities and their state. Card holders have access to public transport discounts and discounted goods and services from participating businesses.

To learn more about Seniors Card benefits and business opportunities, or to apply for a card, see Seniors Online.

How businesses can offer Seniors Card discounts

Any Victorian business or service with a sound reputation and with an Australian Business Number (ABN) or Australian Company Number (ACN) can participate in the Victorian Seniors Card program by offering a discount or benefit to card holders.

There are no fees for businesses to join the program, although there are fees for some activities. For the terms and conditions, and for the participating business application form, go to Seniors Online.

The Age Friendly Partners Program is a new Seniors Card program that addresses some of the consumer issues and social barriers seniors face. The program works with sector and business partners to improve access, inclusion and excellence in customer service.
